Alain Jaume & Fils, Clos de Sixte 2010 Lirac
16/20
Drink 2013-2018

Very dark crimson. Very ripe, perfumed black cherry fruit with lively spice. Juicy and fluid on the palate. Tannins are there but in the background even now.

Grand Veneur 2010 Châteauneuf-du-Pape
17/20
Drink 2017-2030

In conversion to organic. 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre. 30% spends 16 months in barrique, 70% spends 16 months in concrete.
Very dark, glowing crimson. Mineral nose. Sweet and intensely black cherry fruit. Very well-managed tannins which are certainly there. Very luxurious young wine. But it finishes quite tannic and dry for the moment. 15.5%

Notably deep crimson Very spicy brooding nose. Sweet, mulberry start and then freshness and very clean tannins on the finish. A very ambitious wine. Dramatic. 15.5%

Grand Veneur 2010 Châteauneuf-du-Pape
16/20
Drink 2011-2013
In conversion to organic. 60% Clairette, 40% Roussanne, 100% spends eight months in inox. Slightly sweaty nose. Dry finish. Just not quite enough fruit in the middle.

Grand Veneur, La Fontaine 2010 Châteauneuf-du-Pape
17.5/20 Drink 2013-2015
In conversion to Bio Certifiée France. 100% Roussanne, 10 months in barrique.
Racy and dense. Much more tension than most of these 2010 whites. Not quite ready but there is lots of interest here. Racy, gouleyant with a hint of mint. 15%

DomAINE Grand Veneur, Cuvée La Fontaine 2005 Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc
15.5/20 Drink 2008-12

Hint of paint stripper on the nose. Very heavy, not very comfortable. Big and a bit chewy and hot. £186 ib Genesis Wines

Domaine Grand Veneur 2005 Côtes du Rhone Villages "Les Champauvins"
17/20
Drink 2008-13

Dangerous wine, on the edge but lively and just not quite reduced! Racy and good value, though without the bottom of a great Châteauneuf.

Vignobles Alain JAUME & Fils, Clos de Sixte 2005 Lirac
17/20
Drink 2008-13

Dark. Lively and round and very charming. Sweet and succulent. £72 ib Genesis Wines

Domaine Grand Veneur 2005 Châteauneuf du Pape Rouge
17.5/20
Drink 2009-18

Thick and sweet. Rich and savoury - surely the Pape Clement of the southern Rhône because the wines are very very pleasing - just perhaps a bit too facile for purists ? Rich and ripe and smoother. Long. £123 ib Genesis Wines
